I was quite astonish with the findings of Michael H. Hart in the book of "Bukti-bukti sains dan sejarah : Kerasulan Muhammad SAW" by Dr. Danial Zainal Abidin. The original idea was from the book "The 100 : A ranking of the Most influential Persons in History" by Micheal H. Hart. The first person he put on the rank was the prophet Muhammad SAW.
I have heard about this before sometime ago, but it did not hit me much for at that time I have always known that the prophet SAW was always the best mankind ever created by god. It was narrated by muslim from the prohpet SAW:
From the beginning of mankind itself, there was only one purpose [Quran,51:56]. But as time goes on, man changes religion accordingly to their desire. For what they like, they keep and what they dislike, they throw.
But the prophet Muhammad SAW renewed this religion which came from Abraham (Ibrahim), Moses (Musa), Aaron (Harun), Joseph (Yusuf), Zechariah (Zakaria) and Jesus (Isa) with Allah's words (Al-Quran). It is not more than to fulfill mankinds fitrah as humans and to fulfill the obligations given to them by Allah. And it is what is Islam. The way of life.
As I read through, there were other people who acknowldge the prophet SAW as the best person ever. And each of them came up with rational reasons to support their statement.
One of them was Professor Jules Masserman. He stated that,
Somehow, I pondered and thought, why is it that these people can think like this, about the prophet SAW but us (the muslim community) more or less doesn't care about it.
What is it that made them so ignorant to understand and know the truth about the prophet SAW? Why do they get so freaking mad when some westeners create insulting cartoons about the prophet SAW but in the other hand, do they follow his sunnah? Do they even understand the divine words from God through him? hmm...
If other people can understand the prophet's attitude, actions and acknowledge his deeds to the highest level, why can't we? We are his followers, aren't we? We are muslims, aren't we?
---Indeed, Allah has chosen Kinanah amongs the sons of Ismail, and He has chosen Quraisy from Kinanah, and He has chosen Hashim from Quraisy dan He has chosen me (Muhammad SAW) from the descendants of Hashim. But as I read the book from Dr. Danial, I was wondering why it made Mr. Micheal put the prophet SAW as the most influential person. As I read through, this is what he said,
My choise of Muhammad to lead the list of the world's most influential persons may suprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both religion and secular levels. Of humble origins, Muhammad founded and promulgated one of the world's great religions and became immensely effective political leader. Today, thirteen centuries after his death, his influence is still powerful and pervasive.Indeed, it is true. For he brought up the original religion from the first man alive, the prophet Adam AS.

One of them was Professor Jules Masserman. He stated that,
Leaders must fulfill 3 functions:He then stated,
1. the leader must provide for the well-being of the followers,
2. the leader or would be leader must provide a social organization in which people feel relatively secure,
3. this leader must provide his people with one set of beliefs.
People like Pasteur and Salk are leaders in the first sense. People like Gandhi and Confucius, on one hand, and Alexander, Caeser and Hitler on the other, are leaders in the second and perhaps the third sense. Jesus and Buddha belong in the third category alone. Perhaps the greatest leader of all times was Mohammad, who combined all three functions. To a lesser degree, Moses did the same.It was very intresting to read about other people's opinion about the prophet SAW and how they came up with their perceptions about him. Sometimes, people just need more evidence to be convinced with the truth. Which to me, it is a very good effort.
